Our Story
A residential CBSE school in the temple valley of Gudilova, founded in 1980.
Since 1980
Vijnana Vihara was started in 1980 by people experienced in and devoted to the field of education. The school is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, and to Vidya Bharati.
Located 27 km from the heart of Visakhapatnam in a village called Gudilova — “Temple Valley” — it lies on the six-lane National Highway 16 between Srikakulam and Anakapalli. Hills rise to the south and west, with open plains to the north and east; the temples of Narayaneswara and Sri Ranganadh Swamy sit just two kilometres away.
The whole atmosphere is surcharged with piety, peace and tranquility. All students, teachers and staff, with their families, reside on the campus, breathing the beauty of nature — an ideal spot for learning.
Vision & Values
Academic rigour grounded in Indian values, character and discipline.
A serene valley campus where students live close to the land and to each other.
Residential life, an on-campus hospital, and teachers who know each student by name.
Students, teachers and staff live together — a true gurukula in spirit.
Campus Life
Life at Vijnana Vihara is residential and rhythmic — mornings of yoga and study, days of class and craft, evenings of sport and song. Meals are made from organic, home-grown vegetables and campus dairy.
With a tinkering lab, a 14,000-book library, a campus hospital, sports grounds and forums for science and the arts, every student finds a place to grow in body, mind and spirit.
“Quality Education Is A System, Not Just A Slogan.”
